Asuga Center diff wobble

I see what you mean! With the holes being slightly off, the diff planetary gears will be off axis, which in turn will push the outdrives off at a slight angle.
Looks to be a bit of duff machining of the extruded diff body. Warranty exchange perhaps?

And as a typical basher, I'll be taking a look at my centre diff😂
But you don't need round diffs, peasant! 😝🤣😘

I jest, of course.

We all should receive round diffs, no matter how badly we thrash our rigs. Stuff should be right out of the box.

Atomic skull's diff is clearly manufactured on a Friday and put together by someone with a hangover on Monday. 😝

Wow very visible, my Kagama4 has a good amount of vibration but I bash it haven’t had issues with what I’m doing but my Spark is perfect no visual vibration seen at all. You have me wanting to check the Kagama now, I have noticed that the diff has to be lined up for mine anyway may be something worth checking if you can change to the second position will that wobble go away. Just a thought

I agree that with your diff looks like both the Spur and the end cap are ever so slightly off centre, meaning that the diff sandwiched in between is eccentric. 🫤

When I flipped the center housing the other way then the end cap and center housing spun true with no runout. The spur gear in the video appears to wobble simply because the center section has runout with respect to the end cap and as a result so does the spur gear.

That sucks I’m sorry, I’ll try to check mine in the Kagama4 tomorrow it’s the aluminum one also ( upgraded ). Let you know what I see

How long does it usually take them to get back to you on warranty claims? I have received no email from them not even an automated confirmation that it was received.

It was a few days for me and it will come from this place. With the weekend here I’d guess Monday for a return email

I never got a response email from them a new differential simply showed up in the mail on monday.

It came with the black steel drive cups, not the spring steel ones, I will just set those aside as spares I guess.

There is a very tiny amount of runout in the center housing, less than 0.05mm, but both ends are concentric. The spur gear rotates with no visible runout or wobble. EDIT this is only when measuring the outside of the housing with a dial gauge and does not necessarily mean the interior structure has runout or how much.

The screw holes in the new differential are machined differently than the old one, the old one had blind holes drilled on either side, the new one has screw holes drilled straight through. The manual shows that both sides should use m3x10 flat head screws but the old diff had m3x8 screws on one side due to shallower holes on that side. The red shade of the anodizing is also slightly different.

Anodizing shades usually are a little different from one batch to the next from the dying process. Crazy you didn’t get a reply but a new diff just delivered, I’ve always said a mistake can happen it’s how the company handles it that matters most to me. Sounds like TC has done without even asking, yes I’d like Swiss Spring and do but you can swap they over easy. Congrats on getting that taken care of and TC for the same
