Never ever again am I gonna use blue locite to hold wheel nuts on, cos my blue locite jammed the nut up solid on 4 wheels, I got 2 off by force but I had to hacksaw the other 2 wheels off to access the nut & hold it to undo the wheel nut!! Never never again!
N. B red locite is permanent, blue locite should allow the wheel nut to rotate

FFS! There's quite a lot of blue loctite on there! 🤣

There's no need to put loctite on wheel nuts to be fair. Now you've learnt this from experience, it's not likely you'll make this mistake again.

Use very conservative amounts on grub screws, otherwise you'll need heat to remove things. 👍

Heat and Nylon don't really mix. 😬

Yeah, 'blue loctite' generally indicates the strength of the 'lock' - red usually being a stronger bond.

Hand tool friendly is essential, but even then, at the sizes we work at, it needs to be used only on key areas and sparingly.

Another weird thing about loctite is that it builds up. This is especially annoying with pinion grub screws.

There's quite a fine line between 'staying together' and 'never coming apart again'. 😅

Never had problems opening the diffs. But this one from my Asuga is really bad. Never opened it before and i probably wont open this one either. Needs a replacement i think.

A 5% or higher carbon alloy bit (1.8-2mm) and a screw extractor have served me quite well. So far have gotten 3 11.9 grade steel screws out with them. Make sure to heat up before using the extractor to break the loctites bond.

Also shake your bottles of loctite before using. Else it’s watery (and weak) for the first half and the last half of the bottle will be nearly red strength. Ask me how I know.
