So aswell as being a massive team corally fan im also a traxxas fan-boy (awaits abuse)
I picked myself up a brand new xmaxx ultimate and the parts to do the chevvy xmonster conversion.
Motor and esc has been replaced with a max 6 combo 5690 1250kv motor and 50/25 gearing, she pulls like a train.
Only ran it on 60% power and she was almost standing back-flipping lol.

Loving the monster truck look, shame that in the UK the body and wheels etc are sooooo expensive..:( would love to convert mine.
I've got an Xmaxx and XRT, both are awesome, but in different ways..
Everyone loves to hate on them, but until you own one, I don't think people realise how great they are..!!

Yeah the wheels and body are expensive but I needed to treat myself lol
The xmaxx has its haters (probably people that have never tried one) but I absolutely love it, yes its big heavy and clumsy.....but so am I lol
Xmaxx all day long for me ❤️

Sweet truck!! I have an Xmaxx, my brother has the whole Maxx family just about. They’re pretty awesome I have to say. I’ve been running my Xmaxx for about 4 years now, it’s had some rehab here and there but it’s been a treat to own honestly. Enjoy!!👍

Thanks buddy, ive just picked up another one but a big standard one (non ultimate) with a few gpm bits on it, got it cheap so couldn't turn it down, be good to compare the ultimate to a std one.
Got a outcast 8S exb coming aswell

Nice! Both mine and my brothers are just the standard Xmaxx model from before the ultimate was released. I can’t say the aluminum upgrades aren’t worth it but we’ve never needed them. He also has the base XRT 8s and we each have Arrma 8s rigs as well. His is the Outcast EXB roller with Hobbywing Max 6 combo, mine is the Kraton BLX 8s (non EXB) with Spektrum v2 combo. The Arrma’s are a bit faster (maybe) but much less forgiving to accidents than the Traxxas 8s models. Wear and tear on the Arrma’s adds up quicker too. Both brands have their strong points IMO.

Nice line up you have.
I will end up ripping the spektrum electronics out of the outcast if they start playing up.
I run hobbywing in my asuga and kagama aswell.
I have just come across the XC brand of esc's so I may chuck one in this xmaxx when it arrives just so I can try it out compared to a hobbywing

Yeah, we’re deeep into the rc’s, LOL. That’s just the 8s stuff. We have an assortment of 2,3,4 and 6s rigs too. Alot of them. I have had good luck with Spektrum 8s escs and motors. I have an XC 6s non sensored esc in my Mojave. Seems strong but I haven’t run it much since I put it in, needs rehab, which is the downside of having so many rc’s. I can’t afford to keep them all tip-top..

Any chance you could measure the total eye to eye fully extended lenght of an X-Maxx shock for me? The lenght of the threaded aluminum shock body would also be useful. A "close" measurement is fine no need to take the shock apart for it. The information I've been able to find online has been wildly different.

I want to see if they could be used as a less expensive and more readily available alternative to aftermarket oversized Baja 5B shocks, my understanding is they have 24mm diameter shock bodies and are somewhere between 190 and 205mm fully extended but finding exact information has been difficult.

So 8" and 1/2" eye to eye and about 4" and 1/3" for the shock body?

Should work unmodified for the rear and I could probably cut 1cm off the top of the shock body for the front. That combined with adjustable shock towers (the type with multiple holes for adjustments) should allow them to be used on a Baja. The Rovan rear oversized Baja 5B shocks are nearly identical in lenght to that.
