Sketer Sketer going WIDE

Well, I just don't think the narrow rig that rolls easy suits my driving style.

Have the full 6s wide kit coming. Upgraded spring steel 92mm turnbuckles (M5 for the rear with the larger XTR ball ends), 6s wide arms, and dogbones. Already have the 6s long CVDs from the hub conversion. Also she is getting a wing and a tbone front bumper fit, and a new proline truck body. Getting the 1972 Chevy long bed.

Will post the progress. Still not decided fully on the tires. May just get another set of Backflip LPs.

Yeah. Sticking with the stock towers and shocks. I have some rigs for big sends, so keeping this one low and wide like a talion. Think it is going to handle awesome.

She looked great when I set my 1980 Chevy body on it the other day that I have on my Tekno. Fit really nice, and the tower fits perfectly in the cab.

Close. I mean yeah, same chassis and arms, but mine will have all the chassis bracing that they don't have, different towers and different shocks, so total different geometry. That is like saying a Kraton and Talion are the same since same chassis and arms.

I hadn't considered those points.
I wonder how the wide arm Sketer will handle?

I am hoping pretty well. Since a 4s rig should be lighter. Will be running smaller tires, so a but more nimble.

Me too, fronts done, will finish the rear today.

The rear is going to require Kronos rear shocks I think. The sketer’s shocks are too short

So I just put some Kronos shocks on and they still aren’t long enough! Might need Kronos tower which means that the sketer body won’t fit. But since you are doing custom body it might be ok ..

Yeah, this is why I didn't tell people to widen their truck using the arms, you need the shocks and towers too so it gets pretty expensive.

And can you still fit the Sketer body with the Kronos towers?

Well, how it goes sometimes. Glad someone else is doing this with me. Lol.

Ordered some Dementor towers. $12 shipped so no big deal.

If I had to do it over again, I’d just do the wider hubs with the m2c +5mm hexes..

If I had to do it over again, I’d just do the wider hubs with the m2c +5mm hexes..

Still might… considering I don’t wanna deal with custom body and what not.

Just don't think it would give the width and handling I am going for.

My stock body has holes all over it now due to the amount of rollovers and roof skids...so was replacing it anyways. And I hate the looks of the stock one...so there's that motivation also.

I may move the stock Sketer rear shocks to the front since will be using the longer ones for the rear anyways. Will look at the geometry when I start tearing it down.

Technically the jambo/dementor still have a slightly longer chassis… the sketer has a different chassis than those two.. it’s slightly shorter…

My thinking is the shorter @TpParts RcXtreme edition 6s arrma rigs…
