Hello all,

Today I went to the beach and the skatepark.
I took both the Kagama and the Asuga out for a drive.

I drove the Asuga first and had a last jump.
I wanted to end the jump with a flip but ended with a missile, nose first, drop.

Luckily I landed on the shock tower and broke nothing. Oh wait, because it went straight down, the battery snapped the front part of the battery box.
The front shock tower is bent.

I ordered the shock towers from ADU and
am wondering if I need to upgrade the shock stand offs and the battery case.

Anybody anybody?

Are those standoffs better then their normal standoffs?
Yes, I know about the battery trays, they are just so f'ng expensive. 40 something euro for the ADU and Garage life will be more because of the Dutch tariff.

The standoffs are better being 2 piece design. I’m using the adu axial battery trays they’re the same price more or less but you do get 2 of them but you would need to drill your chassis to fit them doubt the mounting holes would match.

I just found this on AliExpress: | ADU RACING 7075-T6 ALU BATTERY TRAYS FOR AXIAL SCX6 AXI251007

If you run three battery straps and cinch them down good, the stock updated battery trays are very durable. Thin neoprene strips under the battery and straps with grippy rubber under them go a long way towards keeping the battery from shifting on impacts. However, if you start taking nose diggers at 45+ MPH, they are going to break, but then again so will your chassis.

Somehow I got lucky, perhaps I should investigate the Asuga a bit more. 🤣😅

Tbh, I think the shock tower is bent by the battery. 🤯
That is why the shock tower is bent outwards and also the reason why the battery tray "wall" is broken.

Inspect your lipo pronto sir! If its bent that then it could be damaged 😬.
I checked, no physical damages to the lipo.
Maybe some mental but those I cannot determine. 🤣

Perhaps the battery tray bracket that broke off, broke the battery drop, not decreasing the speed to the tower but the blow to the lipo.

I am happy the lipo is ok.

Ok, damage report, I have bent the shock tower back. Quite easy to do.
The shock shaft and the standoff is bent, so need to replace those.
Totally new shocks (other brands?) or just replace the shock shaft?
Standoffs, just replace with the old ones, I guess?

Adu racing do monster shock stand offs, really beefy

I just found this on AliExpress:
ADU Racing TC4 M4 SHOCK TOWER STAND OFF FOR TEAM CORALLY ASUGA KAGAMA etc

If you get the Adu shock towers get the Adu front shock tower protector as well. It's dirt cheap and well worth it.

If you bent the shock shaft there's a decent chance you've also warped the hole in the shock body for the shaft as well.

Adu "cow catcher" bumper for the Asuga is also a good investment.

Good tip, I am getting both shock towers. (Ordered)
The eye of the left shock cap is widened (not ordered) a bit and as mentioned the shock shaft (ordered) is also bent, very slightly.

I will think about the other ADU stuff.
Need to save up a bit.

But thanks for the tips and the pictures.

Scorched titanium shock standoffs. 💪👌

The M4 steel bolt runs through the titanium standoff - you'll not bend or break these!
